FINANCE
 
JOB TITLE:       Finance Director
BENEFITS:        Medical, life, short-term and long-term disability insurance, options for eye and dental, insurance, TMRS retirement as well as vacation, sick, holiday schedule and three personal floating holidays per year.                  
FSLA:  Exempt
REPORTS TO: 
City Manager 
COMPENSATION:         Salary is commensurate to experience and qualifications.  Maximum starting salary $70,000
Purpose:  Performs all accounting operations for the City of Ovilla.

NOTICE/JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties include but not limited to payroll, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, monthly financial statements, bank deposits, fund transfers, investment & committed fund balance reports, fiscal and mid-year budget analysis and reports.  Additional duties include assisting with the city audit, purchasing, reviewing inventory, quarterly reports, W-2's & 1099's, property tax deposits, maintaining financial transparency information for the City website, monthly sales tax and TMRS retirement reports, assisting with PIA requests and bid proposals for accounting related functions. 

Additional Requirement:
     Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related financial field with municipal experience. Possession of a valid Texas Driver's License.
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday;
Environmental Conditions:
Office environment. 


FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Ovilla Fire Department continually accepts applications for fire fighter/paramedic. Final applicants for employment with the City of Ovilla are subject to drug testing and background check. 


POLICE DEPARTMENT 

JOB TITLE:       Police Officer
BENEFITS:        Medical, life, short-term and long-term disability insurance, options for eye and dental, insurance, TMRS retirement as well as vacation, sick, holiday schedule and three personal floating holidays per year.        
STATUS
            Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION:         Salary is $43,014.40. Starting hourly rate depends on experience, possession of a commercial driver’s license and various certifications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and some manual labor experience (such as mowing, carpentry, plumbing, etc.) or construction trades experience. Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry tools, materials and debris up to 100 lbs. and have the ability to bend, kneel, and stand walk for extended periods of time during various maintenance activities. This position is exposed to outdoor elements, participates in and performs duties in accordance with departmental safety policies and procedures.  Must demonstrate intrinsic motivation, high ethical and moral standards, and strong customer service and have regular, reliable attendance. 

Additional Requirement:   U.S. Citizen. • High School Diploma or GED. • 21 Years of age with a valid TX Driver’s License. • Current TCOLE certification a plus, but not required. • Honorable Military Discharge. (if applicable) • Must be able to pass written exam, interview board, background check, physical exam, psychological exam, drug screen, and additional job performance assessments.

            Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION:         Starting salary range is $14.30 to $ 17.25 an hour. Starting hourly rate depends on experience, possession of a commercial driver’s license and various certifications.
