ATTN: Sewer Customers

Sewer Avg

City Council approved an ordinance on September 10, 2018 to amend the way sewer is calculated.  In the past we would take an average of the billing months during December, January and February (which is the usage months of November, December, January).  The average of these three months would set your "winter average".  This amount was also the maximum you would be charged for sewer from March until the following March.  The NEW way to set the maximum will be to take the lowest billed consumption during this same time frame and that will be considered your "winter average".

Example.

Billing Month            Consumption

December                 10.2 (10,200 gallons)

January                     5.3 (5,300 Gallons)

February                   2.1 (2,100 Gallons)

Lowest of these        2.1 (2,100 Gallons)

This will be your new "winter average" or your maximum sewer charge from March to the following March.
