JOB TITLE: Customer Service Rep/UB Billing Clerk/Accounting Asst.
COMPENSATION: Entry level pay $14.50 (depending on qualifications)
BENEFITS: Medical, life, short-term and long-term disability insurance, (optional vision and dental coverage), TMRS retirement, earned/accrued vacation and sick, holiday schedule and three personal floating holidays per year.
FSLA: Non-Exempt 8 am-4:30 pm
REPORTS TO: Finance Director
SUMMARY: The purpose of the Customer Service Representative–Utility Billing Clerk-Permit Clerk/Accounting Assistant is to provide excellent customer service to citizens, internal and external customers of the Utility Billing Department by responding to requests for assistance and requests for actions in a timely and effective manner. This position will also provide accomplished operating functions of computer systems, processing paperwork, permits, and providing assistance where needed, including technical and/or administrative support for a variety of departmental functions, to include data for the public works department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Requires High School diploma or GED, with 30-hours of college or accounting education preferred. Minimum 1-year demonstrated excellent customer services experience in municipal government in cashiering and/or billing related experience in the banking, billing or financial industry. Excellent customer service a must. Proven ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

Starting salary range is $13.50 to $17.45 an hour. Starting hourly rate depends on experience, possession of a commercial driver’s license and various certifications.
Additional Requirement: Must hold a current Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License or be able to obtain a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License within 12-months of hiring.
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday; on call one week a month; at the Department’s discretion, the work location and workdays/hours may be subject to change.
