The Ellis County Commissioners Court voted in favor of rescinding a county-wide burn ban in their meeting held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, Ellis County is no longer under a burn ban.
The City Council approved a new 5 year contract with Community Waste Disposal for solid waste and recycling services at the November 13th city council meeting. See a few key details of the new contract are below:
Per city ordinance no person, firm, or corporation shall sell or discharge fireworks in Ovilla. Please remember that a fine could be accessed up to $500.00 for those in violation of the city ordinance.
